Catheter-Related Bloodstream Infections (CRBSI/CLABSI) are a serious problem. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, an estimated 250,000 cases of CLABSI occur in hospitals in the United States each year. An estimated 80,000 CLABSIs occur in intensive care units (ICUs) alone.   Up to 1 in 4 patients who contract CLABSI die.  Even when not fatal, CLABSIs can develop into other serious conditions, leading to longer, costlier hospital stays.

The usage of ACTIVCap can help reduce CLABSI incidences.
